What is an Implant?
Implants are screws made of titanium that are used in the treatment of missing teeth and are placed inside the jawbone. A dental prosthesis is placed on these screws. The advantage of implant treatment over other treatments is that neighboring teeth are not damaged. This means that neighboring teeth do not need to be cut. The implant tooth acts as a root and you can eat, talk and laugh just like a natural tooth.
Who Can Have Implant Treatment?
Implant treatment is applied to individuals over the age of 18 who have completed their jaw and face development. Before the treatment, it is determined by x-rays whether the jaw structure is suitable for the implant. In diabetic patients, the disease must be regulated before treatment. For those using blood thinners, the medications are discontinued before treatment. Those with osteoporosis can receive implant treatment after receiving appropriate treatment.
How is Implant Treatment Done?
Implant treatment is performed by giving the patient a light sedation. A detailed examination and x-ray are required before the procedure. Measurements of the jaw bones and remaining teeth are taken. There are two options for placing dental implants. In the one-stage procedure, a temporary headgear is attached after the implant is placed. In the two-stage process, after the dental implant is inserted, it is covered with gum and left to heal. Prosthetic heads are then attached. In both cases, a temporary bridge is placed and a healing period of 3 months for the lower jaw and six months for the upper jaw is expected. Sometimes newly made teeth can be placed on dental implants immediately. With a dental implant, the patient can laugh and eat safely.
Zirconium implants are new generation implants made to increase the resistance of titanium implants. It is used to increase durability, especially in narrow jawbones. It is no different from titanium except for durability.
It is a technique in which fixed full jaw prosthetic restoration is performed on 4-6 implants on the enamel on the surface of the teeth on the same day as the surgical operation. It ensures patient satisfaction by taking into account function, aesthetics, taste, speech and self-confidence.
The process of surgically elevating the sinus floor in order to increase the decreasing amount of bone is called sinus lifting.
To the area where implant treatment will be performed; It is applied to increase the height and depth of the jawbone. After the bone addition is made, Implant Treatment can be performed on the new jaw that has reached sufficient thickness after a six-month waiting period. In this process, a temporary prosthesis suitable for the palate structure is used to prevent the person from experiencing any problems with their aesthetic appearance. When the desired thickness of the jawbone is reached, an implant is placed in the missing tooth area. After a period of three to six months, the prepared porcelain teeth are placed and the person continues his life with a healthier mouth with his new, aesthetic and solid teeth.
Impacted Tooth Extraction
While it is generally the process of removing wisdom teeth from subcutaneously through surgical intervention, tooth extraction is the process of extracting teeth that are visibly damaged and cannot be treated.
Root Type Resection
The surgical procedure performed when root canal treatment operations are not suitable or sufficient is called root end resection.
Jaw Cysts
The only treatment method is surgical intervention. Cysts are surgically removed by a specialist maxillofacial surgeon. If correct intervention is not performed in time, jaw cysts can cause many sad consequences such as facial swelling, inflammation and pain, benign or malignant tumor formation, and deformation of the jaw bone.
